For a while at the beginning of school I honestly worried that I'd never make friends here. I'm happy to say that almost a month into school I'm no longer worried about that. I haven't made a ton of really close friends, but every day I meet more and more people. I'll never be particularly close to any of these people, but I've got a large group of people now that I at least know and am friendly with. They're people that I say hi to when I pass them while walking around campus and I can sit down with when I see them at events. It's good to know that I have at least a couple of good friends now and even more people that I can call friends, even if we're not particularly close.
Today was the call-out meeting for history club. I went with Claire, and it was so much fun. I'm definitely looking forward to being a part of it, and the meeting only helped lessen my fears of not making friends even more. The group was on the smaller side (which is a positive for me), and everyone there was great. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the year. I now belong to two clubs, and tomorrow I'll find out about even more at the activities fair. I'm not sure how many I'll join. We'll see how tomorrow and the first meetings go. So far things are looking pretty good though. I'll probably never be an incredibly social person with a huge group of friends, but I'm feeling pretty good about things now.
