I Was So Different In Middle School

It's been two weeks since I posted here!  That's bad, I know, but my last two weekends have been crazy!  As those of you who follow me elsewhere on the Internet probably know, I spent all of last weekend at my grandma's house.  With a bunch of my cousins running around and celebrating Thanksgiving, I never got around to posting a blog.  The weekend before was obviously the release of the Harry Potter movie (which I have now seen twice!).  My best friend went to see it with us and spent the night Saturday.  It was our first time seeing each other since August!  Therefore, I never got around to posting a blog.  I promise that we're now back to at least once weekly (hopefully twice weekly) posts.  Now, enough with excuses...

A lot of you have probably heard me mention that I'm writing an original fiction story.  However, I don't know if I ever mentioned that this story is based on true events.  It's fictional, but things have actually happened that inspired the story.  The problem I'm having is that the main character of the story is in eighth grade (just like I was when the events that inspired the story happened).  While writing this story I've realized just how much I've changed in the three years since middle school.  I'd always known this of course, but I hadn't realized just how different I was.  I keep writing things, and then deleting it because I then realized that that is something I never would have done or said in middle school.  Honestly, I never thought of myself as immature while in middle school but looking back, I'm just now realizing how different my life was.  I'm not saying I was stupid and immature exactly, just different.  It's made it a little hard to write the story.  I have to keep asking myself whether this is something a middle schooler would say.  I don't want to make the main character too mature for her age, but I don't want her to be to immature either.  It's proving to be a little difficult.  One of the neat things about writing this though, is that I'm uncovering a lot of memories form middle school that I'd completely forgotten about.  There have been some hilarious moments that I just remembered that I had to incorporate into the story somehow.

The Eclipse DVD came out at midnight today (or yesterday).  This was the first time I didn't attend a midnight release for a Twilight DVD.  I have no idea when I'll actually get the DVD.  It may show up in my Christmas presents.  I want it of course, but I'm not quite as excited about it as I was the others which is a little strange considering it was my favorite Twilight movie yet.

Speaking of DVDs, I haven't even gotten The Last Airbender DVD yet, but after a certain conversation with my mom, I'm almost 100% positive that it will be one of the presents I open on Christmas morning.

A lot of you know that I have a Goodreads account.  I've been working on connecting that account to my blog, so that everytime I post a review, it will be posted here as well.  The problem is, Goodreads doesn't want ot cooperate, and the instructions they give you on how to do it make no sense whatsoever.  I've contacted them about it, so we'll see if that ever happens.

The other week, I finally caved in and got a Tumblr.  I'd seen a lot of people mention having one, but I've never been interested in getting one.  Then, I was bored one day, so I decided to just get one.  I'm having a lot of fun with it.  I'm not incredibly into it, but I get on there at least a couple of times a day.  I'm even doing a 30 day challenge on their right now.  I post something about Avatar: The Last Airbender.  Today it was my favorite ship (which is Kataang of course).  If you had a Tumblr account, it would be awesome if you followed me, and if I like you're blog then I'll follow back of course.
