My Opinion
I wasn't really aware of the online Avatar fandom until right before season three, and I wasn't quite as obsessed with shipping when the season one finale came around as I would be later on. I was just basically neutral to Yuokka at the time. I didn't care one way or the other. Although I can't remember that well, I think I found Yue's death pretty sad, but her relationship with Sokka didn't really matter to me much. Present day, I enjoy how Yuokka played out on the show, but if Yue had lived and they remained a couple, I imagine I wouldn't have really been interested in it. I would have probably gotten more and more bored with it as time went on.
Why do people ship Yuokka?
First of all, I don't think Yuokka is an incredibly popular ship. Whether that's because Yue died or because people just found it boring, I don't know. Maybe it's a combination of the two. As for people who do ship it, they may have thought or hoped it would be the final canon ship at first, since there was obviously something between Sokka and Yue and no one knew she was going to die. I read something the other day where Sokka would have made a great leader of the Northern Water Tribe if he married Yue. Maybe that's a factor for some people. There were a lot of cute little moments between Yue and Sokka.

From Tornadoes to a Sunny, Beautiful Day
Today I woke up to find out we have a two hour delay because of a tornado warning. Usually I love two hour delays. It's two extra hours of sleep! All I could do for at least half an hour this morning was lay awake and listen to the storm outside. I even got up a few times to make sure there weren't any tornadoes outside. (Storms make me paranoid.) Eventually it calmed down, and I was able to sleep. However, after getting to school I heard that there had actually been funnel clouds in towns near us. Scary.
We watched First Knight for the second day in AP English today. I'm really enjoying the movie, but we're supposed to look for symbolism, and I'm not sure how good I am at finding symbolism in movies.
Today was the deadline for some if our yearbook pages, and one of ours didn't get done because we're missing pictures from a couple science classes, and the teachers haven't gotten back to our yearbook teacher saying we can take pictures of their class. Hopefully we get that done soon.
The second debate in psychology was today. Each day there has been one team that pretty much everyone has voted for. Our debate is tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well!
We got our latest probability and statistics test back today. I messed up while typing a set of numbers in my calculator and then got almost every question pertaining to that set of numbers wrong. Let's just say I'm not too proud of that test score.

Korra Nation and the New Trailer
Chances are if you're an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan and have been keeping up with the Legend of Korra news, you've probably already heard of Korra Nation. If you haven't you should really go check it out. Nick's releasing a bunch of awesome new Korra stuff from there, and you can win prizes by sharing the information and winning points. So far we've gotten some awesome scenery pictures and even a new character sketch. The most exciting bit though, for me at least, was the new trailer they released.
I've been trying to avoid all of the stuff that was leaked (except for the opening which I watched twice), but this is official and I have no qualms about watching it a million times. I just want to go through everything in the trailer and fangirl about it, so that's what I'm going to do...
The trailer starts off talking about Aang saving the world, which I think is great. They definitely need to focus on this new series' connection to the old one in their advertising (at least in the beginning). I absolutely love the first shot we see of Korra in the trailer. She's standing in front of a statue of Aang. The symbolism of that is just amazing.
I will admit that the one problem I have with the trailer is how Korra's voice actor delivers the first line she has. For some reason that one land sounds almost robotic to me. She does a great job with every other line in the trailer though.
I love the shots we get of her fighting. I've heard several people mention that the thing she does with water is really similar to what Aang does in the very beginning of the first series. I wonder how much symbolism will bind the two shows together. I also love seeing her bend multiple elements in the trailer. It'll be interesting to have an Avatar with only one element left to master. She's not starting with element number two like Aang.
The cars, cameras, microphones, etc. are strange but cool. It'll be interesting to see how the technology plays into the series.
I absolutely love that Tenzin's in the trailer. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love him no matter what his character turns out to be like. I fangirl Aang and Katara too much to hate their offspring. Plus, the way he delivers his line cracks me up. It kind of reminds me of something Sokka would say, but Tenzin seems more mature than Sokka (understandable considering Sokka was a teenager and Tenzin's an adult). The fact that Korra destroyed something is historic is great. She's going to be an entirely different Avatar than Aang.
I love the amount of comedy we get in the trailer. There's so much of it, but they fit in a great amount of action too.
I love how Nala seems to like to lick just as much as Appa did. (I'm just now realizing that their names are kind of similar too.)
And then it ends by saying "coming soon." I can't wait until we get a release date! We've been waiting for this for so long. I mean, after Avatar ended, we didn't know if there was going to be anything else. I thought the finale might be the last bit of Avatar I'd ever see, and now four years later we're finally getting more. I'm not exaggerating when I say I may cry when this comes on the TV. (Okay, so I probably won't cry. I'll be so happy that I'll drive everyone around me insane though.) I almost cried over the comic book. Actually getting another series is just freaking amazing.

As Good as Mondays Get
Today was just about as good as a Monday can possibly get. I had an absolutely splitting headache at work, which is normal for me on Mondays, but school was full of quite a few fun moments.
We have been doing two presentations each Friday in AP English, but the two people who were supposed to go last Friday had to go today instead. Ji was one of the people who presented today, and her PowerPoint was way more amusing than anyone else's has been so far. She used a ton of sounds that only helped contribute to the hilariousness. After they gave their presentations, we started watching First Knight since we just finished reading some Arthurian legends. I've never seen the movie before. We have to write a movie review on it when we're finished, so it is work in a way, but I'm happy to have a few days of just watching a movie.
Our deadline for a bunch of yearbook pages is the 29th, so I'm definitely starting to feel the pressure from that. The next few days are going to be stressful when it comes to yearbook.
I managed to finish the PowerPoint section of our textbook in computer applications, which means I have no work in that class until finals (or midterms technically). That's definitely a plus the next few days, since I can work on yearbook in there now if I need to.
We were supposed to be preparing for our debate in psychology today, which we did a bit, but I think we talked about movies more than anything. I'm not too worried about it though, since we're pretty prepared (and one member of the team we're against was involved in the conversation too).
Haley, Jordan, and I had an absolutely hilarious Hunger Games conversation in the library during lunch. I hadn't laughed that hard in a while. Although, I think we would have been kicked out of the library if we'd gotten much louder.
We're going to be talking about 9/11 all this week in current events. We started today by going over the "basics" of it, and the teacher had us watched video of the planes flying into the World Trade Center. I'm not sure what else we're going to do this week, but it should be interesting. Quite a few kids in the class didn't seem to know quite a lot (and I didn't know all of it either, like how many terrorists were involved), so I think it's important for us to talk about.
People finished giving presentations in probability and statistics today (I went on Friday.), and there were several hilarious presentations. I guess today was just full of hilariousness. I think that kind of made it fill a bit like a Friday. Overall, I think today was as good as a Monday can get. Hopefully it's a good omen for the rest of the week.

Not Bothering with the Oscars
I can't believe it's the last week of February. This month has gone by fast for me. It's hard to believe that I have less than three months of high school left.
I really haven't done much of anything today, and for some reason I've felt really worn out. All I've done is work on homework and read.
The Oscars are on right now (or the red carpet at least), and that's all I'm seeing on Twitter and Tumblr. I'm pretty sure I watched them the last several years, but I can't bring myself to bother turning them on this year. The only thing I want to know is if Harry Potter wins any of the three categories it was nominated for, and I'm sure I'll learn that from Twitter as soon as those categories are announced.

Avatar Shipping: Sukka

My Opinion
Sukka is the only Avatar ship that I kind of ship but not really. I knew they would probably end up together in the end, and I accepted it. I was glad that both Suki and Sokka are happy together. However, Tokka remains my favorite Sokka ship, and I'll always have a preference for it. I tend not to read Sukka fanfiction unless it's not the main focus of the story, but I do enjoy it when I read it. I just wouldn't seek it out over Tokka.
Why do people ship Sukka?
Sukka is obviously a canon ship, so there's no surprise people like it. Since I do have generally positive feelings on Sukka, I can see perfectly why people ship it. When they first meet on Kyoshi Island, Suki shows Sokka that girls can fight too, which was something he definitely needed to learn soon in the series. I think the final episodes showed why Sukka is a great ship. That was when we finally got to see them together for a somewhat extended period of time, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoyed their interactions with each other in those episodes.

Cleaning Church
It turns out that I didn't end up going to take pictures of the weight-lifting competition at school this morning. Ji texted me this morning saying she'd rather take pictures by herself, especially since she had to go somewhere afterwards anyway. I didn't really care. I wasn't planning to go originally, but the teacher who's in charge of it pretty much said Ji needed an "assistant" and practically gave me the job. Ji is a much better photographer than me, and I wouldn't have contributed anything. Frankly, I was kind of relieved to not have to go. Although, I do kind of wish she'd told me before I woke up that early.
However, since I was free my mom recruited me to help her and my aunt clean the church. It didn't take long. We finished in less than an hour. All I had to do was fill up the fonts at the entrances of the church with holy water, dust the sides of the pews (they have this design that dust gets into), replace a candle that was burnt out, collect trash from the sacristy, and dust in the sacristy. That sounded like a lot more as I was typing it than it did when I was actually doing it...
We managed to finish that by eleven, and now I'm back home with nothing planned for the rest of the day. I watched episode 188 of Naruto earlier, and I plan on watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother as soon as I'm done writing this. And, of course, I have some homework to get done today like usual.

The English Monarchy and Weight-Lifting Competitions
We spent English class with out teacher explaining the stories of the English monarchs from William the Conqueror to Elizabeth I because we're starting on literature in the Elizabethan Age. It wasn't a bad way to spend the class in my opinion. Those sort of things really interests me. In fact, a lot of it was stuff I already knew because I'd learned about it on my own.
We've been getting ready for the debates we're having next week in psychology. I'm not too sure how our debate is going to go. I think our side has the shakier argument, but the other side isn't doing much research at all. We're definitely going to be more prepared, and I'm hoping we can make that work to our advantage.
I had to present the results of the survey I did for probability and statistics today. My poster looked horrible, and my graph didn't have any correlation. It didn't go too badly though, and I'm pretty sure he's not grading on creative abilities. (Whenever teachers grade based on creativity for posters, I always get points taken off. It doesn't even matter if I try to be creative. I'm just not good at making posters.)
I have to go to school early tomorrow to take yearbook pictures with Ji of a weight-lifting competition our school is hosting. I'm not looking forward to waking up just about an hour after I would for school, and I've never been to a weight-lifting competition before. I don't think it is something I'd enjoy... We only have to take pictures of the kids from our school who compete (apparently there are going to be a ton of other schools there), so hopefully it won't take too long. I imagine we'll be done by noon, so it won't really take up my Saturday.

I finished The Fault in Our Stars today. I know I've been talking about it constantly on various places on the Internet the past few days, but I just have to mention it again. This isn't going to be the actual review. I'll have a much better (most likely longer and more in-depth) review in a few days, but I just want to give my over all first impression.
This book is amazing. Absolutely amazing. It's the best book I've read since the Hunger Games. I'm going to try and get everyone I know to read it. For those of you unaware what it's about, the simple explanation is that it's a girl with cancer who falls in love with a boy with cancer. It sounds sad doesn't it? And it is, but it's absolutely wonderful. Plus, it's set in Indianapolis, and you can learn all of the reasons why I'm not fond of my state's capital while you're reading it. (There's one scene where Augustus mentions that Indy has no culture, which I whole-heartily agree with.) Seriously, go read it as soon as possible!

Lots To Do
Today has been a long, stressful day. Is there really a month left until spring break?
Our probability and statistics teacher told us today that we have a project due Friday. It's not a hard project by any means, but I'm a bit worried I won't have time to get it done. It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't work tomorrow, but I think I might have to finish it at work. I'm going to try my best to get it done at school tomorrow.
Today was also Ash Wednesday, so I had to go to church. I know I shouldn't complain about church, but it didn't really help with the lack of time I seem to have lately. Spring break can't come fast enough...

Tests and Debates
Going back to school after a three day weekend always makes the day feel a whole lot longer.
I had the pleasure of starting the day with an AP U.S. history test. It wasn't that bad though.
We got into groups and chose topics for the debate we're having in psychology today. Neither Jordan nor Haley were there, but the teacher went ahead and put them in a group with me. As the only one in our group, I was the only one there to chose our topic. All the groups paired off, and the only group left wanted to debate whether or not drug addiction is a disease. I agreed since the topic I really wanted had been taken, and Haley and Jordan weren't there to give their input. Hopefully that goes well...
I'm at work now, and writing this on my phone. It's pretty slow, and time is dragging on. Plus, I forgot to do something yesterday that I need to do when I get home. I may wait until tomorrow if it's too late when I get home.

Tumblr Filled Day
Today has been a long day. Remember my little thing about sleep yesterday? Well, I spent about half of today sleeping, and I'm still tired. I'm actually kind of thankful that I'll be back to my normal sleep schedule tomorrow.
I feel like I accomplished absolutely nothing today other than homework. I honestly haven't done much other than that. I did film a video that I'll hopefully have up in an hour or so. (The footage is converting at the moment.) I haven't really gotten to read or anything today, but I plan on taking The Fault in Our Stars to work with me tomorrow and maybe even school. Let's hope I don't start crying in front of people...

I hadn't had time to get on Tumblr for quite a while, and I hadn't even gotten on Saturday or Sunday. I actually think it's to blame for my lack of motivation to do anything else today. Books That Make Me Emotional
What is the one scene in a book that has had the most emotional effect on you? I've read many things that made me emotional before, but there's no doubt that my answer to this question would be the entirely of the Into the Forest Again chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. There's not one scene in a book that has had as much of an effect on me as that one. If you've read the Harry Potter series, then I don't think I have to explain why. I don't think anyone who's made it through the entire series can be unemotional when they reach that chapter.
I'm planning on beginning reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green tonight, and I've heard that it's a pretty emotional book, so maybe I'll have a different answer soon. I doubt it though. The Fault in Our Stars will probably make me cry, and I have no doubt it will be emotional. I don't think it can rival Harry Potter though. It's not anything against John's writing, but the biggest reason Into the Forest Again had such an effect on me was that it was nearing the end of a seven book series that I'd read since I was eight. Still, I imagine I'm going to be bawling my eyes out soon. I don't know whether I should be looking forward to it or not.

Sleep and I Don't Get Along
Why is it that I tend to be the most crankiest on the days I actually get a decent amount of sleep? Sleep and I just have an all around crazy relationship. I'm always tired, no matter what I do. That being said, sleeping in was great, and I felt great when I woke up. It wasn't until later that I felt tired again. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me.
I managed to watch both Naruto and How I Met Your Mother today. Plus, I also wrote a bit, and I'm going to work on prereading a fanfiction for someone after I finish this post. After that, I plan on reading some more of an awesome Harry Potter fanfic that I was reading earlier. Other than that, my day hasn't really consisted of much.

Avatar Shipping: Ty Lokka
For past posts in this "series" you can go to these places: intro, Zutara, Kataang, Tokka, and Teoph. This post will be about Ty Lee and Sokka or Ty Lokka.
My Opinion
To be honest, Ty Lokka isn't a ship I've really thought about much even though it seems to have a somewhat decent amount of support in the fandom. Sure Ty Lee flirted with Sokka once, and he kind of flirted back, but I don't think they'd make a good couple if they actually dated. I don't really care for it at all. It actually sounds a little boring.
Why do people ship Ty Lokka?
I really don't know how to answer this question. I suppose it mostly stems from the flirting that happens in The Drill, but I can't see that in itself causing people to ship it. I guess there's just something about Ty Lee and Sokka that some people like together, but I have no idea what that would be.

Valentine's Day Means Candy
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Valentine's Day has never been my favorite holiday. I don't hate it. I just don't really care about it. It did mean I got candy today though, so that's a bonus. Ji had a somewhat large box of candy that she carried around all day and handed out to people, and I got two pieces. My computer applications teacher gave all of us suckers, and I got a chocolate rose from my parents.
I honestly have nothing else note-worthy to mention from today. I was dissappointed we didn't get at least a two-hour delay. The two extra hours of sleep would have been nice. The roads weren't bad at all though, and basically everything was melted by the time we got out of school. I'm starting to think we'll never have a snow day this year. If we don't, I think this will be the first time in my life that's ever happened, which would be weird since it's my senior year.

Arthurian Legends and Bread and Circuses
We started reading Arthurian legends in AP English today. We got part of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (I think it was called) for homework today, and I enjoyed it even though it wasn't my favorite thing ever. I just enjoy it because you hear so much about Arthurian legends, but I'd never actually read one until today. I think we're reading part of one other one too.
We talked about our first memories in psychology. I really don't gave anything interesting, so I just mentioned how I remembered my grandma coming over to babysit me when I was pretty little. Our teacher said he had a student once that claimed she could remember being in the womb. We talked about whether or not that's possible or if she'd just made herself believe it was a real memory. It was interesting.
Ji and I sold these computer fun surveys for Key Club at lunch today. The whole school takes a survey and then a computer puts them with their "best matches." Even though the money goes toward Key Club, I don't think I'll get mine. It's pretty pointless, and I don't want to spend the money on it.
In current events, we watched a video comparing the U.S. and the Roman Empire. It said stuff about the inflation today being like the Romans lying about how much silver was in their coins, and they said we have a version of bread and circuses today. It was an interesting video, and I can see where they're coming from.
Work has been pretty slow today. I think the cold's keeping everyone away. We're supposed to get snow tonight, and if we do, that'll be only about the second time this year. It's not supposed to be much, but we'll see what happens. I'd like to have just one snow day my senior year...

Music That Makes Me Nostalgic
What music did you like listening to when you were a kid? Believe it or not, I actually remember owning a cassette player and a bunch of cassette tapes that I listened to. I had a bunch of tapes with kids songs, and I think most of them were Disney.
At some point my sister and I got a stereo and began buying CDs. My cousin burned a bunch of her CDs fir us, and I think that's the first time I ever listened to Britney Spears or Alvin and the Chipmunks (and I then had to go and rent the old Chipmunk cartoons, of course).
I also began buying Aaron Carter CDs. I was obsessed with his music for a couple of years at least. I also remember a patriotic CD I loved and a CD full of songs from Nickelodeon cartoons.

The End of a Long Weekend
This has been a hectic weekend, and it's not even over yet! I filmed a video about my day yesterday that will be up in a few days, so I won't talk about that again. Today has been a lot less eventful, but I've spent a good portion of my day getting homework that I neglected doing in the car yesterday. (It gets dark way too early at this time of the year.)
Other than that I have to go to high school religious ed later to help my dad with that as a table leader. I'm excited because my dad's going to show a clip from Return of the King that deals with the lesson. My sister and her friend weren't happy about that at all, but that just makes it even more amusing to me. I have to get my homework done though, since I don't want to do it when I come home. I'm almost done, so it shouldn't take too much longer.

Presentations, Red Velvet Cupcakes, and Interviews
I think this is the fastest a week has gone by for me in a really long time. The irony is that I spent most of it sick. I'm usually complaining about how long days are if I'm feeling really bad, but this time it flew by quicker than normal.
I gave a presentation on synesthesia in AP English today. I was so nervous. I actually think I did worse than I did on the presentation I gave in current events last Friday. Two of us presented today, and mine was a lot shorter. I feel as if I didn't have enough information, and I definitely stumbled over my words while talking. I'm glad I'm done with presentations for the foreseeable future.
For some reason Ji got cupcakes today. She cadets in the guidance office and the secretary just gave her two of them. For some unexplainable reason Ji didn't want them, and she gave both of them today. I can tell you that having a red velvet cupcake for a mid-morning snack is pretty awesome. (Red velvet is one of the very few types of cake I like, and I absolutely love it.)
Tomorrow my mom and I are driving up to Indianapolis for an interview with a college. At least we're supposed to. It was sleeting a little earlier, and it's supposed to keep up with that all night. My mom doesn't want to drive up there if the weather's still bad. There are only two interview days, and we got assigned the date and time, so I don't know what will happen if we can't go up there. This isn't my top choice school (and this is for a scholar program, not to get into the school), but it's still a really nice school. It's definitely still an option, and getting into the program would be nice. Plus, I hate saying I'll go and then not showing up. I guess we'll just have to see what the weather does...

Almost Better (Again)
I'm starting to get over being sick (for the third time this winter...), but I still don't feel all that great. I'm amazed the week is going by as quickly as it is. Usually days drag on when I'm sick. I'm hoping I'll wake up tomorrow feeling perfectly fine, but I'm not so sure that'll be the case.
Our AP English class is being taped tomorrow. I'm not really sure why. The teacher said it had something to do with teacher evaluations, and it's going to be shown to people around the school district. She's apparently been here longer than any (or at least most) of the other teachers in the schoo district, and they're using her as an example or something. Anyway, it should be interesting to see how that goes. She chose us because we're AP and less likey to embarass her I think. I know no one's going to do something on purpose, but I hope nothing happens that makes her look bad.

How the Internet Changes Things
This is another blog post posted from my phone.
Do you have things about you that you think most people would be surprised to know about you? I'm so shy that I sometimes wonder what people think I'm like. I don't mean that in an "are they judging me?" way. I just wonder if they would be surprised if they knew what I was like when I'm not shy.
I think a lot of people know I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I tend to give that away pretty soon. I do wonder if they'd be surprised if they knew sone of the other things I'm interested in though.
Now that people from school are starting to follow me on twitter (and I post links to here and my YouTube channel on there), I don't think it's as surprising anymore. I know at least a few people from school have discovered my videos, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them had read something on here too.
It's interesting since they might be learning more about me on here then they do at school since I'm so quiet. I tend to forget so many people from school even have twitter accounts now until they mention it. (Good thing I don't talk bad about anyone.) It's interesting, but not necessarily bad in my opinion. It's just one of the ways the Internet has changed the world.

Sick Yet Again
Today has not been a good day. I woke up sick enough to be miserable but not sick enough to stay home from school. I had a done to get done today, and very little of it got done because it was so difficult for me to focus. I've gradually started feeling better as the day has gone on. I can only hope I wake up feeling perfectly fine tomorrow. Based on how I feel now I doubt it though. I have work tomorrow, and when I get home, there's several things I need to do that I didn't get done today.
I just deleted about half of what I wrote. It's all stuff that I know I wouldn't write if I didn't feel so horrible right now, so I made myself delete it. I'm having trouble thinking of anything right now, so I'm just going to end this here. Hopefully tomorrow's a much better day.

Naruto Review: Episodes 184-186
This post is going to be a review of episodes 184, 185, and 186 of Naruto. These are each stand-alone episodes that don't belong in an arc. I'm just going to give some of my thoughts on each episode.
Episode 184 is called Kiba's Long Day. I found this episode really sad. It's about Kiba and Akamaru going on a mission and Akamaru (I can't remember what happened to cause it) kind of losing himself and starting to hurt people. It was hard to watch in places. I find Akamaru absolutely adorable and watching him in pain and turning mean was hard. The hardest parts to watch though were Kiba's reaction to everything. It may have been a pointless episode, but it almost had me in tears.
The next episode is called A Legend from the Hidden Leaf: the Onbaa. I found most of this episode incredibly weird. There's no other way to describe it. I mean it's about Naruto carrying some strange creature around on his back because it refuses to get off. At first I thought it was cute, but then the thing started growing. By the time its feet were dragging on the ground and Naruto was still carrying him, it just weirded me out. I did think it was kind of cute how he saved Naruto in the end though. Overall, it was just a strange episode.
Episode 186 was called Laughing Shino. This episode was a bit weird as well but nothing like 185. I don't know if this is something that actually happens in Japan sometimes, but the concept of sending a representative in your place to funeral just seems weird to me. If you're able to go to the funeral (especially if it's for your father) shouldn't you go regardless of what the will says? The laughing drug was also a bit weird, but that was nothing compared to the funeral. Everyone attempting to make Naruto laugh was just strange. I wasn't at all surprised when the man turned out to really be alive. It wasn't a horrible episode, but it definitely wasn't that great.

Did you resolve to read more this year? Maybe you've dubbed this year as the year you finally start your own book club. To be successful with either of these goals, you'll need to keep that all-consuming passion for reading alive. Here are five examples of what NOT to do.
I have been guilty of each and every one of these bibliophile misdeeds. To avoid making these mistakes, it helps to be cognizant of what they are and how they may put-off your love of reading. My list is, of course, not exhaustive. Please feel free to add other ways in which your enthusiasm for the written word has been destroyed or derailed.
1. By taking too long to finish reading a particular book - many a decent book have been utterly destroyed for me simply because I took too long to get through them. Sometimes this is because of a busy work or personal life that interferes with my time that is generally allotted to reading; others it is because I am reading the wrong book.
2. Because of reading the wrong book—what makes a book wrong? Some people say that if a book does not grab you in the first 50 pages that you should give up reading it. I don’t know if I, however, subscribe to an exact number of pages that must be read before giving up. Sometimes books get started a bit late. Jonathan Safran Foer’s “Everything is Illuminated” for example takes a while to get heated up, but once it’s there, this is one of the most incredible books.
3. Through turning your leisure activity into a chore—if reading as a hobby is very important to you, it’s best not to subject yourself to reading materials that can be deemed more as work than pleasure. A classic example of this phenomenon is graduate school. I am not suggesting that you forego higher education to maintain your zeal for the written word; rather i’d like you to understand that you may undergo a 2-, 3- or even 5- year hiatus in this instance.
4. In choosing to miss out on other activities to sit at home and read—so you’re a book-worm that probably means you, like many others who share your passion, are an introvert. That’s great, but don’t use reading as an excuse to miss out on some of the other things life has to offer, like a social life. Don’t get too caught up in the fictional realm that you forget that life exists outside of the pages of a novel!
5. Upon assigning too much meaning to fictional characters—Loved ‘Twilight’ and now find yourself pining for a boyfriend just like Edward Cullen? No man even comes close? Surprise, surprise. Never measure real people up to invented ones, everybody loses. Similarly, if you find a glimmer of someone you know in a villainous character, you may start subconsciously assigning some of the fictional player’s deeds to your real-life loved one. Don’t do it!

Hunger Games Trailer, Canterbury Tales, and More
This weekend seems to have gone by fast. I was looking forward to resting, but for some reason I don't feel rested at all. I feel just as tired as I did Friday night even though I got a decent amount of sleep and didn't do anything to wear me out.
I watched the Hunger Games trailer when it aired on TV during the Super Bowl pre-show. It's the same one that was released online earlier this week, but it was awesome to see it on TV. We actually have the pre-show recorded on the DVR just for the trailer.
I haven't done much this weekend. Tonight's the second part of the Catholicism video series my church is doing, and that'll be the only time I've done anything this weekend except for church.
I'm in the middle of reading the Nun's Priest's Tale from the Canterbury Tales, but I can't make myself focus on it. I keep zoning out as I'm reading, and I can't remember anything I just read. I'll get it done before I have to go to the video thing later though.

Shows I'm Watching/Want to Watch
There are so many TV shows I want to watch but just don't have time for. I've been watching Naruto since 2009, and I'm still not even to Shippuden yet. That's riddiculous! I wish I had more time to watch it. I'm also trying to watch How I Met Your Mother. I haven't been watching it quite as long, but it's probably been a year already that I've been watching it.
Aside from both of those, there's a long list of shows that I want to watch. When I finish Naruto I plan on watching Fullmetal Alchemist, and I have a ton of animes that I want to watch after that. As for non-anime shows, I want to watch quite a few other shows. The thing is I want to get through Naruto and HIMYM first. It would get way to hectic if I tried to watch the entire series of a bunch of shows at once. I have a long list though. I'll probably never get through it since I add to it a lot quicker than I can get through shows (obviously since it takes me over three years to watch Naruto).
It'll be interesting to see when I actually finish Naruto and HIMYM and can start watching other shows. Do you have any shows that you're currently trying to watch the entire series? Are there any shows that you want to watch?

Wife of Bath's Tale and Student Court
I'm doing my second blog post of the day on my iPhone since I know I won't have time when I get home.
I read the Wife of Bath's Tale from The Canturbury Tales today for English. It was interesting. I like how the Wife of Bath wanted to be equal to her husbands, which was unheard of then. I didn't much like the actual story though. It's just odd to be people today I guess. I like it as literature but not as a story if that makes sense.
We got out of writing notes in psychology because we spent the whole time talking about school rules and punishments. Our teacher had us come up with ideas yesterday, and some people had interesting ideas. Jordan and Alex suggested a student court for certain things where students would form a jury and the principal would be judge. I think that's a really cool idea.

The Rest of the Year
This is another post that's going to be typed on my iPhone.
It's February 2nd, which means we're already a month into 2012. Thinking about it makes me a bit nervous. This is a big year for me. (I just hope the world doesn't end.)
There are some things happening that not all people would understand my excitement for. There was The Promise Part 1 that was released, and I'm still looking forward to the other parts. Beauty and the Beast was rereleased in 3D. Star Wars is being rereleased. Hunger Games is coming out in March, and Breaking Dawn Part 2 will be out in November. Nickelodeon announced in January that Korra will be out sometime this year. That's all awesome stuff, and who knows what other things will happen in the various fandoms this year.
However, that's not really what I'm talking about. It's already a month into the year, but I keep getting more and more excited for two very big things that will happen later this year: high school graduation and starting college. I just got my third college acceptance letter two days ago, and I'm beyond excited. It's for a college that I know I would love to attend. However, I still have to hear back from my number one choice, and I'm just a little worried about that.
There are a tin mire things to work out when it comes to college. I still have to fill out a financial aid form (this weekend), attempt to get scholarships, decide on a school, and actually get to that school, get through financial stuff, and everything else going to college requires. Somedays I feel like I'm going to tear my hair out in frustration. I can't let myself think of everything I gave to do because it drives me insane. I have to focus on one thing at a time.
Still, overall I'm just excited to finally start college. Don't get me wrong. High school was/is fun, and I'll miss it to a certain extent, but i'm just really excited to start college. Plus, I have all of the other fun things I mentioned to look forward to for the next eleven months.
