Living Off the Land

My friend Katrina who I haven't seen in about three years came over today for a couple of hours.  We were best friends in kindergarten and remained friends for years after she started going to a different school.  Then she moved to a different state with her mom, and I didn't see her for years.  She came back to visit her dad and other family, but something was always going on so we never got to see each other.  We had a lot of fun though.  She says that she'll be spending the whole summer here, so we'll get to see each other a lot.  I'm excited!  She's an awesome friend, and I really miss her.

We went out to eat today for my mom's birthday.  We went to Cracker Barrel.  Usually, I get the same thing everytime we go, but this time I decided to try something different.  I wish I had stuck to what I normally get.  The food wasn't bad, but I don't think it was as good.

After we ate, we were looking around the store, and I found a Brady Bunch DVD that had the first seven episodes on it.  I wanted to get it because I was obsessed with that show when I was younger, but my mom wouldn't let me buy it.  She said it was too expensive which it was, so it's probably a good thing I didn't get it.  My dad did find this book about "how to live off the land" or something like that.  It tells you how to do a bunch of stuff like grow a garden, make a rug, skin animals, and a bunch of other stuff.  I have no idea why we wanted it, but he got it.  All I ended up getting was a stick of lemon flavored candy.  I love the flavor of lemon, just saying.

Then, we went to Target.  I wasn't going to get anything, but we passed the books so I had to look.  I ended up buying City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.  I've heard so many things about this series, so I really want to read it.  I have so many other books that I need to read first though.  It may take a while.

I watched episode 140 of Naruto last night.  I actually watched it before I posted last night's blog post, but I forgot to mention it.  *SPOILERS*  The thing with the heart really creeped me out.  I couldn't even look at the screen, but I had to read the subtitles.  It made it difficult to watch.

Merry Christmas

First of all, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas.  If you don't celebrate it, then I hope you had an awesome day anyway!

I slept in until 1:30 in the afternoon today and still managed to be incredibly tired all day long.  It's so weird how that happens.

My aunt brought my brother, sister, and me a present today.  We each got a card with money in it, and we all got an 8-in-1 game set thing.  It has chess, checkers, Chinese checkers, cards, and some other stuff in it.

If you watch my Youtube videos, you may remember me talking about the whole re-reading Harry Potter thing.  Basically, there was this thing I saw on Tumblr that people are re-reading Harry Potter starting on December 24th.  If you read one chapter a day (plus Beetle the Bard) you'll read the epilogue (since you read the last chapter of DH, then Beetle the Bard, then the epilogue) on the day the last movie comes out.  I said I wanted to do this and then completely forgot about it.  I plan on getting caught up and still doing it though.  I may mention it in future blogs or videos.  Maybe I'll just let you guys know when I finish a book or something.

Dan Radcliffe was on some British show called Quite Interesting.  It's hosted by Stephen Fry who's also the narrator of the British Harry Potter audio books.  It was hilarious.  Basically, Stephen Fry asks them a question, and they try to answer it.  They always discuss the question too, and they had a bunch of hilarious conversations.  Dan was really smart too.  He knew a ton of stuff that most people have no idea about.  It was really cool.  I'm kind of interested to know where he learned that stuff from.  If you want to watch it, the whole episode is here.

"Girl Issues"

***A little warning: I can't really believe I'm posting this on the Internet, but I feel the need to rant about right now.  Most girls will probably understand.***

Today has not been a good day.  I've spend all day feeling like crap because of "girl issues."  Frankly, I'm a little surprised that I'm posting this on the Internet.  That basically means that I've spent all day doing nothing but wishing that the pain would go away.  When I get cramps, they're usually really bad.  Sometimes I will actually cry, but that may just be because I don't really handle pain well.  It doesn't help that in addition to the cramps I've had a horrible headache all day.  Needless to say I am not in a good mood right now.

It kind of sucks because I wanted to get this Harry Potter fanfiction story I've been writing up.  It's a Ron/Hermione Christmas one-shot, and I'm a little excited about it.  The problem is, it still needs to be edited a little, and I refuse to touch any of my writing when I feel like crap.  I'm sure my misery and anger will show in the story (kind of like in this blog post), and it's supposed to be a happy story.  Hopefully, I'll wake up in the morning feeling a lot better, and I can get the story up then.

I did watch episode 139 of Naruto earlier.  It was a pretty awesome episode.  I really loved the end.  I can't wait to see what happens to Sakura.

I also watched episode 3 of How I Met Your Mother, and I loved it.  I thought it was hilarious.  I definitely think Barney is becoming my favorite character.  He's absolutely hilarious.

I Can't Feel My Feet

I spent about two hours today standing out in the freezing cold in front of the grocery store while it was raining with Ji.  We were ringing the bell and raising money for the Salvation Army.  It was so cold!  Once I got home, I couldn't feel my feet.  I've been home for about two hours now, and I'm still freezing even though I'm covered in blankets and everything!  My mom brought us hot chocolate out of no where which was awesome.  Ji and I had been trading my pair of gloves back and forth, so our hands were really cold.  The hot chocolate (aside from tasting good) helped warm up my hands too.

Anyway, Ji and I talked about her coming over tomorrow to work on school stuff.  She said that she thinks it would be cool to be in a Youtube video, so I said she could be in my Seven Awesome Nerds video for this week.  Wouldn't that be awesome?

The Grey Lady is apparently going to be played by Kelly MacDonald in Deathly Hallows Part 2.  I've never seen her in anything before (that I know of at least).  I wonder if she's good.

There's a rumor going around that the Deathly Hallows DVD will be out either March 15 or March 22.  That seems about right to me since the first two Twilight movies came out in November and got March DVD releases.  I always love getting new Harry Potter DVDs and watching all of the special features.  I can't believe that this will be the second to last DVD release!

Deathly Hallows Part 1 and The Last Airbender are both finalists for visual effects in the Academy Awards.  While I love Avatar (not so much the movie though), I'm going to have to root for Deathly Hallows to win.  That's mainly just because I thought it was a better movie overall though.  Although, if I had to choose the most positive thing about The Last Airbender movie, I would probably say the visual effects.

A Short Update

ABCFamily had Harry Potter weekend this weekend.  I caught a little bit of Chamber of Secrets and even less of Prisoner of Azkaban.  It seems like such a long time since I've watched either one.  They're all so young!  It's so strange after watching Deathly Hallows only a week ago.

My brother's 11th birthday party was today although his actual birthday was yesterday.  That means we had some family over for a couple of hours.  We had a lot of fun although pretty much all we did was talk.

I just got finished watching episode 137 of Naruto.  It was an okay episode but not that exciting.

I know this is an incredibly short post but at least it's a post.  I'm getting back into the hang of actually updating here after the past two weeks.

I Was So Different In Middle School

It's been two weeks since I posted here!  That's bad, I know, but my last two weekends have been crazy!  As those of you who follow me elsewhere on the Internet probably know, I spent all of last weekend at my grandma's house.  With a bunch of my cousins running around and celebrating Thanksgiving, I never got around to posting a blog.  The weekend before was obviously the release of the Harry Potter movie (which I have now seen twice!).  My best friend went to see it with us and spent the night Saturday.  It was our first time seeing each other since August!  Therefore, I never got around to posting a blog.  I promise that we're now back to at least once weekly (hopefully twice weekly) posts.  Now, enough with excuses...

A lot of you have probably heard me mention that I'm writing an original fiction story.  However, I don't know if I ever mentioned that this story is based on true events.  It's fictional, but things have actually happened that inspired the story.  The problem I'm having is that the main character of the story is in eighth grade (just like I was when the events that inspired the story happened).  While writing this story I've realized just how much I've changed in the three years since middle school.  I'd always known this of course, but I hadn't realized just how different I was.  I keep writing things, and then deleting it because I then realized that that is something I never would have done or said in middle school.  Honestly, I never thought of myself as immature while in middle school but looking back, I'm just now realizing how different my life was.  I'm not saying I was stupid and immature exactly, just different.  It's made it a little hard to write the story.  I have to keep asking myself whether this is something a middle schooler would say.  I don't want to make the main character too mature for her age, but I don't want her to be to immature either.  It's proving to be a little difficult.  One of the neat things about writing this though, is that I'm uncovering a lot of memories form middle school that I'd completely forgotten about.  There have been some hilarious moments that I just remembered that I had to incorporate into the story somehow.

The Eclipse DVD came out at midnight today (or yesterday).  This was the first time I didn't attend a midnight release for a Twilight DVD.  I have no idea when I'll actually get the DVD.  It may show up in my Christmas presents.  I want it of course, but I'm not quite as excited about it as I was the others which is a little strange considering it was my favorite Twilight movie yet.

Speaking of DVDs, I haven't even gotten The Last Airbender DVD yet, but after a certain conversation with my mom, I'm almost 100% positive that it will be one of the presents I open on Christmas morning.

A lot of you know that I have a Goodreads account.  I've been working on connecting that account to my blog, so that everytime I post a review, it will be posted here as well.  The problem is, Goodreads doesn't want ot cooperate, and the instructions they give you on how to do it make no sense whatsoever.  I've contacted them about it, so we'll see if that ever happens.

The other week, I finally caved in and got a Tumblr.  I'd seen a lot of people mention having one, but I've never been interested in getting one.  Then, I was bored one day, so I decided to just get one.  I'm having a lot of fun with it.  I'm not incredibly into it, but I get on there at least a couple of times a day.  I'm even doing a 30 day challenge on their right now.  I post something about Avatar: The Last Airbender.  Today it was my favorite ship (which is Kataang of course).  If you had a Tumblr account, it would be awesome if you followed me, and if I like you're blog then I'll follow back of course.
