At least a year ago my mom bought this DVD that had two movies in it. One disc is Stepmom and the other is Mona Lisa Smile. I'm going to talk about Mona Lisa Smile some other time, but I'm talking about Stepmom in this post.
I'd seen Stepmom before, but it had been an extremely long time. Long enough that I knew I had seen it, but only a couple of minutes here or there felt familiar. The end was what I remembered the most. I honestly watched this a month or two ago, and I'm just now getting a review up. I've forgotten anything I would have wanted to say by now.
I really enjoyed the movie. It was a sweet movie, and the end of the movie made me cry more than any movie has in an extremely long time. The special features were also pretty cool. That's really all I have to say. I know it's not much really. I'd probably say more if it hadn't been so long since I'd watched it, and it wasn't so late with so little time. I'd definitely recommend watching it if you haven't seen it before.

The Hunger Games Teaser Trailer
I'm a bit late about this, but I'm finally blogging about the Hunger Games teaser trailer that aired during the VMAs on MTV.
I absolutely loved this trailer! I know it's not much, but we were told that beforehand. The end of the trailer is just incredibly epic in my opinion. The rest of the trailer is cool too. I like how we see a bit of Katniss in the games, but it doesn't give away too much. I hate when trailers give away the whole entire movie. They're still going to have to put more than this in later trailers, but it definitely fit the teaser part of a teaser trailer. I definitely wasn't expecting Gale to be narrating it, but I like that we get to hear everything he says. I can't help but wonder what someone who's never read the books is thinking about all of that.
From Katniss shooting the arrow to the end of the trailer, I get incredibly fan-girly every time I watch it. Having the arrow she shoots form the arrow in the mockingjay pin was a brilliant idea. I didn't even realize Rue's whistle was at the end until someone pointed it out online. I think that was a wonderful touch. This made me even more excited for the movie! I can't wait for March!

My Reaction to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Last Thursday evening I got the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 early at LeakyCon. It was four hours before the movie would be released on the east coast. I loved being able to see the movie in a theater full of Harry Potter fans. They weren't even normal fans. These were people who love Harry Potter so much that they came to a Harry Potter conference. For about fifteen minutes before the movie started, a bunch of people in the theater were singing wizard rock songs. It was amazing.
My feelings may change after multiple re-watchings and discussions, but as of right now, it's my favorite Harry Potter movie. I loved how fast everything seemed to go. It in no way felt like a more than two hour movie. Plus, it was amazing to finally see the conclusion of the Harry Potter series in movie form. It was even more amazing to watch it in a theater with people who cheered and cried at moments that non-fans wouldn't have. (The crying at certain points was incredibly loud. You can't really blame people, but I'll admit that it was a little distracting.)
There were many things that were completely different from the book, but this is the first movie where I can say that I think a majority of the changes were for the better. (Although there were still one or two things I would have liked to seen added in or changes that just seemed off.)
I love books, and I'll always prefer them to movies. Still, there a certain things that always look really cool when seen on-screen, such as epic battle scenes. The movie didn't match anything that I'd had in my head, but it's interpretation of the books was still amazing and incredibly fun to watch. I'm going to see it again with my family tomorrow, and I can't wait to see it again. It's going to be so much fun talking about their reactions to the movie afterwards (only my dad has read the books).
